Teen Programs (grades 7-12 only)

Teen Summer Reading

Teen Summer Reading runs from Mon., June 2 through Sat., Aug. 30.

Teens in 7th-12th grades may join the Teen Summer Reading Program. If you’re going into 7th, you can choose either the Intermediate or Teen program. You may read any book (which includes audio books and graphic novels) at your reading level. You MUST have a valid library card and the books have to be checked out from the Hammond Public Library. The first 12 teens who sign up receive a free book. Bring your reading log with you every time you return a book to the Information Services Desk on the 2nd floor. When you finish a reading log, you will be asked to write a few sentences about one of the books you read, you will get a small prize, and you will be entered into the drawing for a $125 Best Buy gift card. You can complete up to 12 reading logs. Don’t forget to come to Teen programs—each time you attend a program, you get an extra entry into the drawing!

June 2 through Aug. 30

Join us for Teen Programs throughout Summer Reading! For each program you attend, your name is entered into the drawing for a Best Buy gift card! You must be signed up for the program in order to be entered into the drawing. All supplies provided. Programs are for teens in 7th-12th grades.
