Youth Summer Reading Theme

Three separate programs:

Each age group will participate in a Summer Reading Bingo, called READS. Each each group will receive a READS card when they sign up for Summer Reading.

Each time they complete each column on their card, they will receive a small prize. If they complete the entire card, then they get a mystery bag and earn one entry

into a drawing for a prize basket. They also move on to their second READS card for extra prizes. If they complete both cards, then they will have a choice to enter

the drawing once more for a prize basket or receive a reading medal. They cannot do both. Those who finish one READS card by July 4 will be entered into a drawing

All books must be library books. Books are checked out at Circulation but returned to Youth Services. for a Walmart gift card.

Teen Summer Reading Theme

Sign up for the program to be entered into three mini drawings for $10 Target gift cards and the grand prize Amazon gift card.

Also, join us for Teen Programs throughout Summer Reading. For each program you attend, your name is entered into the drawing.

You must be signed up for the program to be entered into the drawings. Programs are for teens in 7th through 12th grades, and

all supplies are provided. Mini drawings are June 17, July 1, and July 15 at 4 p.m.

Adult Summer Reading Theme

Books, audiobooks and e-books must be checked out from HPL, and read or listened to between June 1 and July 30.

You must be age 18 and older with a valid Hammond Public Library card. Read or listen to 5 books of your choice to complete a log.

Library staff will stamp and date all entries. If you're reading an e-book, please see a librarian in Information Services before

the book is returned on your device. You may complete as many logs as you wish, up to 20 logs. For every log you complete,

you are entered into a prize drawing. Mini drawings take place at 4 p.m. on these Fridays: June 17, July 1, and July 15.

The Grand Prize drawing takes place after the program ends July 30.
