Saving to a Flash Drive or Memory Card
Opening a File on a Flash Drive

Web pages as well as other documents such as word processing or resume files can be saved to a flash drive or memory card.

When you plug your flash drive or memory card into the front of the computer, a small balloon will pop up in the lower right corner alerting you of the drive letter that your drive/card has become.

Saving New Files to a FlashDrive/Memory Card

  1. Insert your flash drive or memory card into the flash drive port.
  2. Open File Explorer app and look for "Removable Disk" to see what drive letter is assigned.
  3. In the program which created the file, click or touch FILE.
  4. Click or touch SAVE AS.
  5. Cllick or touch in the "Save in" box to select the card reader drive letter found in step 2..
  6. In file name box, type a name for the file in the space provided.
  7. Click or touch the SAVE button (at the bottom right) to save your work.

Opening Existing Files from a Flash Drive/Memory Card

Note: Files must be opened from within the program you are using to create/edit files. They cannot be opened directly from File Explorer.

  1. Insert your flash drive or memory card into the flash drive port.
  2. Open File Explorer app and look for "Removable Disk" to see what drive letter is assigned.
  3. In the program which created the file, click or touch FILE.
  4. Click or touch OPEN.
  5. Cllick or touch in the "Look in" box to select the card reader drive letter found in step 2..
  6. Click or touch the file name to select it.
  7. Click or touch the OPEN button (at the bottom right) to save your work.
