Friends of the Hammond Public Library staff a Book Sale Room

and snack area at the Library, 564 State St.

The room is open during library hours.

The Friends board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. Friends members may attend.

Joint meeting of the Friends of the Library and Hammond Historical Society

Sat., Nov. 7 at 10 a.m.: Join us as Thad Zale, coauthor of Tony Zale: The Man of Steel, speaks about the life and championship boxing career of his uncle.

The public is invited. Copies of Zale's book will be available for purchase.

USED BOOK SALE: An ongoing book sale is in the Book Sale Room at Main Library. Ongoing sale prices are:

DVD or CD: $1.00

Hardcover; Oversized Paperback: $1.00

Paperback, VHS tape: 50 cents

Youth book, cassette: 25 cents

Magazine, record: 10 cents

Specially priced items and sets: as marked

HALF-PRICE SALE is at the Book Sale Room at Main Library on the last Saturday of most months from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Sale excludes specially priced items and sets.

Half-Price Sale for Friends Members Only on the 2nd Saturday of each month: Sat., Nov. 14

Your Book Sale and vending machine purchases allow the Friends of the Hammond Public Library to fund programs and services that the Library

would otherwise be unable to provide. The library always accepts your donations of used books, magazines, DVDs and VHS tapes, CDs and records.



Your Friends of the Library membership plays an important role in library service to the community. The Friends are a separate organization, not funded by the library or the government.

Friends of the Library Hammond Indiana, Inc. is a member of Friends of Indiana Libraries (FOIL) as well as a national group, United for Libraries: the Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations.

The Friends exist to raise funds for projects and programs, lend support to legislative activities when needed, and help in the Book Sale Room.
